Fifth Ripple:

Insulate
Water is the greatest protector of vital organs for our body.  As we are Hydrated with water, a layer of protection is created that insulates our vitals.  It helps them to move freely provides cushion from the onslaught of daily physical aggression.  You bump into the counter at home…, “oh no, I’ve ruptured my spleen”.  No you didn’t, you hydrated and your spleen was protected.

Satan, our enemy, is constantly attacking us.  He is especially concerned with our time with God.  Our study and prayer time (Hydration) is a threat to him.  He attacks us with busyness, family disputes, and laziness (preoccupation).  As we Hydrate we become equipped to handle the onslaught of the enemy.  The Water of the Word provides an insulation (protection) to our Spirit.  Therefore, we Hydrate!

The Verses
Ephesians 6:12-17
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.  Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.  Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Joshua 1:8-9
This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.  "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.

Psalm 46:1
I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; from where shall my help come?  My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.

Psalm 121:1-2
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

James 4:7-8
Submit therefore to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you.  Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.  Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
