Blaine Rogers @Mark 11:1-11 Day 5 Without knowing it, the people are fulfilling prophecy too. Their praise comes from Psalm 118:19-29. Therefore, their praise was Biblical. It’s important that we praise God as He wants to be praised. So if God says we are to come to Him with words (Hosea 14:2), then that is how we come. If God says we are to come to Him with song (Psalm 100:2) that is how we come. If God says we are to come to Him with hands raised up (Psalm 134:2), that is how we come. The whole point in worship is to do what pleases God. (Guzick) However, we often settle for what pleases us. The beautiful truth is that when we seek to please God with worship, we find ourselves wonderfully blessed as well. Why did Jesus want to be praised? It obviously was not for His sake; Jesus did not/does not need affirmation or attention. Jesus wants to be praised because we need to praise Him. God will get His praise (by us or by rocks), and He desires us to be a part of it, for our benefit!
