Galatians 3:1-14 Day 5 You’ve got to be here for Day of Grace on Sunday…Here are a few things we will be discussing… Galatians 3:13 must not be read without verse 14, where it is says that He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit. Jesus bore the curse of the legalism. The curse of legalism is lifted from us by faith through grace, that is, when we trust in Jesus Christ and what he has done for us. Paul stresses the adverb alone to indicate that the gift of eternal life is received by trusting in Jesus Christ plus nothing. Faith is looking to Christ alone for the gift of eternal life through grace. The contrast between the curse and the blessing in verses 13 and 14 is obvious. We read that Christ became a curse for us so that we might inherit the blessing. When you try to be good you are ultimately trying to pay for the curse that Jesus has already paid for. You cannot pay for your curse because Jesus already did…this is by Grace…and you don’t deserve it, quit trying to deserve it and control it. Just lean back!!!
