Day 3 Paul says that in order to follow Christ well, we must obey the rules! Now, when we compete, or in order to qualify, our efforts are compared to the qualifications. The important thing in competing is following directions. The important question is, whose qualifications are you following? Most people think it is ok to follow their own rules. Who gets to make the rules: the competitors, the players or the game maker? Instead of living your faith by your own rules, we must follow the rules and obey Jesus. Like all races, running to win means staying in the boundaries. Paul committed himself to living his life by God’s rules. He did not want to be “disqualified for the prize” (1 Corinthians 9:27). As good runners, we embrace the rules and gladly submit to them. Otherwise, we will be disqualified and exempt from victory at the end! #247daily
