Day 4 Galatians 5:13 The Galatians had already been enjoying freedom in Christ (freedom from slavery to sin and freedom to choose holy living), but it seemed they were about to be enslaved again by sin and legalism! Freedom is precious. It’s bought with the priceless blood of our Savior, Jesus Christ. It is not achieved by our actions but by the finished work of Jesus. To expect our lives to exact freedom is folly. It is only as we look to Christ that we become free from guilt, shame, regret…etc. President Lincoln understood something about the precious value of freedom. Signing the Emancipation Proclamation to free slaves in the United States, he made sure his hand was steady before writing his name. Signing firmly, he stated, “I don’t want it to look as if I hesitated.” We cannot hesitate when focusing and trusting in the finished work of Jesus. Then we become free to serve others! Don’t let your life look like a hesitation. The good news of Jesus sets people truly free. Our good works are just clean shackles! #247daily
