Day 5 – Matthew 2:1-15 But what if Herod had asked them, "Who?" The Scribes and Wise Men might have read on in Micah 5: 2, 4 "His goings forth are from long ago, from the days of eternity. . ." "And He will arise and shepherd His flock in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD His God. And they will remain, because at that time He will be great to the ends of the earth." So, this King is not just coming into being in the womb of his mother Mary. "His goings forth are from long ago, from the days of eternity." Or, as John's Gospel says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" (John 1:1). And this King would not be limited in His realm to Israel. "He will be great to the ends of the earth." Christmas is not about a baby! It is about God becoming flesh and becoming our Kinsmen Redeemer, just like He said He would do! Don’t get all wrapped up in swaddling clothes, that you miss the God wrapped up inside of them! #247daily
