Day 3 Matthew 6:20-21 “Store up for yourselves treasures in heaven… For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” What is the most important thing to you? We see the way our culture encourages us to store up treasures on earth and exalts materialism to the point where debt has become acceptable. We can recognize that truth by evaluating our own checkbooks. As Christ-followers, however, we are called to free ourselves from the bondage of debt so that our resources are available for His purposes. When our giving is Spirit-led, scripturally accurate, it gets in the devil’s way. He hates it when you sow because he knows it will equip you for a harvest. Satan wants you to think that sowing is something that works for some people but not you. He wants you to believe that you won’t receive a harvest. He knows if he can get you to doubt, he can keep you from giving and thus receiving a harvest; neutralizing your financial effectiveness for the Kingdom of God. He actually keeps you poor, in mind and blessing. The enemy knows that when you begin receiving harvests, you will understand the potential available for blessing others.
