Blaine Rogers @Mark 11:15-19 Day 4 Religion naturally becomes very exclusive. The more religious you are the fewer people you can get along with. However, the more you know of Jesus Christ the more people you love. I hope you can see the difference between religion (law) and a relationship (love). In the Old Testament, God insists that Israel as a nation was never to be narrowly restricted to those who were the physical descendants of the twelve sons of Jacob. God’s plan was that Israel as a nation, would always incorporate people of other races. This extended not just to their identity as God’s chosen people and their rights of residence in the promise land, but also the right to worship God in the Temple. This is because membership of the people of God was always on the basis of faith not race. However, when Jesus arrives at the place of inclusiveness for the world, He found racial prejudice, favoritism, commercialism and greed. Are your arms open to all people or are you exclusive like the Jews of Jesus day? Can God save everyone regardless of who they are or can God only save people just like you? If God can save everyone, why are you not building bridges into the lives of people not like you? Share this post…
