Mark 15.15-25 Day 1 The Rich young Ruler turned from Jesus to keep his position. Judas betrayed Jesus to endure his position. The Jews turned from Jesus because He didn’t share their position. The Pharisees betrayed Jesus because He threatened their position. They hated Jesus because He claimed to be their Messiah. He was not the kind of Messiah they were expecting, so they rejected Him and sent Him away to His death. Pilate condemned Jesus to death to save his position with Rome. Pilate violated every conviction he held. He convicted a Man against Whom no one had been able to lodge a valid charge. Pilate sinned against truth, conscience, integrity and principle in condemning Jesus. He allowed an innocent man to be crucified to ensure earthly security. Each of these, and many more, make the decision about Jesus based upon how it affects their current position. If we are low, Jesus is a great idea. If we are on the mountain, why would I need Jesus? But there is fault in this logic. Jesus did come so that we could change our position with our Father. We tend to look at temporal things instead of eternal things. Make sure today you allow Jesus to change your position, focus on the eternal and your day will be blessed.
