Day 3 Just remember, your sacrifices will always be less than His demand. He has paid the requirement He set, so that you could approach Him. To think that any sacrifice we could perform will never impress our Father, is difficult for us to come to terms with. To imagine that my sacrifices are never sufficient to please God, that my sacrifice is sufficiently efficacious, is to believe wrongly about my sin and God’s demands for perfection. To think that you can sacrifice and win God’s favor is like a doctor who misdiagnoses the problem - the medicine may become poison. Thinking you can win God’s favor is to do significant damage to His sacrifice. We often begin to think we are earning God’s favor because of our sacrifice, but the Bible paints a rather bleak picture of our ability. Adam’s sin in the Garden was sufficient to condemn us all. David says in Psalm 51, “I was sinful at birth, (for all those who think of the innocence of babies) sinful from the time my mother conceived me.” Read Romans 3:10-12 – we are slaves to sin, Romans 7:14; enemies of God, Romans 5:10; corrupted in both mind and conscience, Titus 1:15; and dead in our sins, Ephesians 2:1. Each and every one of us deserves God’s wrath, even with our sacrifices, because any sacrifices we make are not good enough when compared to the requirement. However, the requirement has already been paid by Jesus on the cross. Why do you think we like to try to make personal sacrifices instead of trusting in Jesus’ sacrifice? Like our page and Share!!
