Day 5 Mark 16:9-14 Why did the disciples doubt and, in Thomas’ case, intentionally, willfully and stubbornly refuse to believe? They had failed to remain focused on Jesus' teaching and on God's promises. They had failed to pray and seek the Father. Instead, they gave into sleep in the Garden. The disciples had allowed the trauma of the week to overtake their certainty. They went from all-in to all-out. I don’t blame them! I find myself there often. Faith is a gift, but at some point it also becomes a choice. We must take our time with Jesus seriously. We must take Jesus’ Words seriously. We must take the Promises of the Father seriously. We must use these as benchmarks in our minds, hearts and souls so that during times of doubt and struggle we are anchored and can recognize Him in our times of distress and storm. Sometimes the only resurrection Jesus’ people will see, might be in your eyes. Your dependence upon Jesus is everything. When He moves and passes by; recognize Him!!!
