Leviticus 1 Day 1 Sacrifice is not too popular of a word. Sacrifice is a rather unpopular word because of what it costs. We like partnerships. Partnerships cost both parties; not necessarily equally, but both parties must bring something to the table. Sacrifice though, speaks of loss and sometimes giving up something entirely, for someone else’s benefit or cause. One thing is true, sacrifice always costs beyond the point of comfort and sometimes beyond the point of ability. However, this is what God requires of us. Sacrifice…however, the demand is beyond our personal ability. Therefore, the Father gives the Son to us for our sacrifice. Someone else paid our sacrifice. And yet, we are still called to take up our cross and be holy. Since our debt has been paid, this seems like a very reasonable demand. Our relationship with the Father is based upon (His) sacrifice not (our) partnership. You don’t buy in to being a board member or stockowner. The Father still has every right to expect and declare, because His Son paid the price for you to be free. Make sure you have the right perspective of whom you belong to. Share!
